Web Design Class.

It's harder than I thought it would be, but that's actually a good thing. I'm learning things I've only ever dreamt of knowing how to do, and this is only the first few weeks.

I love all this coding stuff. I wish I had thought to take this in the first place. It's so amazing.

ONLY thing I can't seem to do?
Picture hyperlinks. (When pictures are in like 10 different folders, as instructed by weekly lab assignments.)

Because nothing is cooler than designing webpages nobody will ever see for a class only the elite few will pass.

Summer Reading

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 10:57 AM
  • Mood: Pride
  • Listening to: Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal
  • Reading: Round Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks
  • Eating: Pizza
  • Drinking: Juice
Basically all I wanted to do with this journal is show off what I'm reading.

Round Ireland with a Fridge is as close to the wonders and hilarity of Bill Bryson as you are ever going to get. I haven't laughed so hard at a book since... Never. (Unless Japanese Manga counts, and then the winner would go to Trinity Blood, for including a doodle of Mr. Peanut in a text box in the middle of an intense scene) The concept is extremely straight forward, this guy, Tony, is hitchhiking around the circumference of Ireland with a small refrigerator. I found out about it from having a gift card to Barnes & Noble since last Christmas. I logged onto the site 6 months later to see what was on their new section, which lists books you should read during the summer, because they are hard to put down. This was the last book on the list (or close to it) but instantly my eye was caught by words like "In the tradition of Bill Bryson." (I've read 4 of his books, and am quite a fan) I read a short of lovely overview and decided it had to be mine. I've been reading it for 3 days, and I'm almost on chapter 10. The only times I close the book, besides for obvious daily things, is to crack up hysterically. There are so many funny parts in succession that it becomes impossible to keep reading because your eyes are shut in laughter. When I bring this book around others to read in any down time I might have, they often come up to me, tap me on the shoulder, and say "What cha' reading?... I noticed you were laughing pretty hard."

Yesterday I was reading through 2 more chapters, and I had started with a blanket over my legs, but by the time I had finished my reading quota for the time I had kicked the blanket off the bed entirely sometime during my fits of laughter.

So if you, or someone you love is diagnosed with boredom this summer...Please contact a book store and purchase this book. For one easy payment of 11 dollars, you can provide joy to yourself or anyone else you know. Don't let yourself go without some good text in hard times. Read this book!

Seriously.

(p.s. This is Not the skaterboi Tony)

  • Mood: Excited
  • Listening to: Apocalyptica - Heat
  • Reading: Leo Edwards - Jerry Todd and the Talking Frog
  • Watching: Ghost in the Shell 1
I just thought i might let you all know that i am now the proud owner of all three Ghost in the Shell movies, including a limited edition music collection from Innocence. So..... I figure all I need now is the Individual Eleven DVD, and the complete box set of GitS SAC. At least I know where to find the first thing, although the second might pose a harder quest in terms of placement and money.
Can anyone say- movie night?!

On another note entirely-
Why did the makers of MarioKart DS make it so that there is no way to save data? Also, why did they make it so that the credits roll and it says you have beaten the game before unlocking everything or even doing all of the missions?
WHY?
